James P. Woods is an award-winning writer, creative director, and marketing consultant with vast experience in crafting and developing creative programs for sales, marketing, event, and promotional purposes. James P. Woods Creative Services specializes in multi-platform, multi-media content development and delivery across traditional advertising and marketing channels and non-traditional, web-based, and social media channels.
Jim's current and recent projects include: creative direction and lead multi-media scriptwriter for the 2012 Cisco Live international marketing campaign; lead media writer for VMWare’s V Forum 2012 global customer events; and social media and web content developer and writer for Alcatel-Lucent’s 2012 OpenTouch international product launch.
Other recent and noteworthy projects include: Gilead Sciences’ 2011-2012 International Access Program for HIV/AIDS Drug Therapies; Duke University’s 2011-2012 Global Expansion & Technology Initiative; and Creative Direction, Media, and Exhibit Scripting for Adidas Corporation’s 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games Olympic Pavilion.
Jim has also written extensively about sports and the Olympic Movement. In addition to his Olympic work with Adidas, Jim founded and served for four years as the first editor and principal writer of Inside The Rings, Visa Corporation's worldwide Olympic marketing publication. He is the author of Wide World of Sports: The First 25 Years, a history of the long-running ABC-TV broadcast sports anthology program.
Among his awards, Jim has been the recipient of a New York Film Festival Silver Medal, a Gold Telly, an Outstanding Achievement Award from the A.M.I., and a VISION Award for his script for Microsoft entitled The World In a Grain of Sand. A graduate of Georgetown University, Jim is based in San Francisco, California.
